About Iowa
Iowa, often known as the “Hawkeye State,” is a Midwestern state in the heart of the United States, celebrated for its friendly communities, picturesque landscapes, and a rich agricultural heritage. With a blend of rural charm and vibrant cities, Iowa offers a diverse range of experiences for residents and visitors.
Iowa is renowned for its vast and fertile farmland, often referred to as the “breadbasket of the world.” The state is a major producer of corn, soybeans, and pork, contributing significantly to the nation’s agricultural output.
Crimes Overview
Iowa has a significantly lower murder rate than the national average. The state also reports lower rates of rape, assault, robbery, kidnapping, burglary, arson, vandalism, blackmail, and motor vehicle theft. Theft rate is also below the national average. Iowa faces a lower rate of identity theft but has higher rates of drug offenses compared to the national average. Weapon law violations are lower in the state as well.
