About Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania, often referred to as the “Keystone State,” is a historically rich and culturally diverse state located in the northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. Known for its pivotal role in American history, vibrant cities, and picturesque countryside, Pennsylvania offers a wide range of experiences for residents and visitors alike.
Pennsylvania holds a central place in American history. Philadelphia, the state’s largest city, played a key role in the founding of the nation and is home to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The Gettysburg National Battlefield preserves the memory of a pivotal Civil War battle.
Crimes Overview
Pennsylvania’s crime rates vary significantly from the national average. The state has alarmingly high rates of murder, rape, assault, and robbery, with crime rates surpassing the national average by a considerable margin. Kidnapping, however, is notably lower than the national average.
Pennsylvania also faces challenges with arson and vandalism, both exceeding the national average. Theft is another area of concern, with a slightly higher crime rate compared to the national average. Motor vehicle theft is also higher in Pennsylvania.
On the positive side, the state reports a lower rate of identity theft. Drug offenses are not a significant concern, but weapon law violations are notably higher than the national average.
