Kentucky, often called the “Bluegrass State,” is a land of scenic beauty, rich history, and southern charm located in the southeastern region of the United States. Known for its rolling bluegrass-covered hills, horse racing heritage, and bourbon distilleries, Kentucky offers a unique blend of culture and natural wonders.
Kentucky is internationally renowned for its horse racing culture, with the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville being one of the most famous horse races in the world. Visitors can explore the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington and witness the majesty of thoroughbred horses.
Crimes Overview
Kentucky has a murder rate at the national average. The state’s rates of rape, assault, robbery, and kidnapping are lower than the national average. Kentucky experiences higher burglary and drug offense rates compared to the national average. However, the state has lower rates of arson, vandalism, blackmail, theft, motor vehicle theft, and identity theft. Weapon law violations are lower compared to the national average.
