Crimes Overview
Louisiana’s murder rate is significantly higher than the national average, while the rape, assault, robbery, and kidnapping rates are also above the national average. The state faces challenges with burglary, vandalism, blackmail, theft, and drug offenses, all higher than the national average. However, motor vehicle theft is lower. Weapon law violations are a significant concern and are considerably higher than the national average.
